WHEREAS, God in His own way and for His own purpose reached down into His earthly garden and plucked one of His fairest flowers, and

WHEREAS, Rev. Raymonda “Ray” Speller was born on October 24, 1986, in Suffolk, Virginia. He was a son of Mr. Bennie Beamon and Mrs. Michelle Speller-Glover. Early in life he began his Christian journey and was Baptized at the Prayer and Praise Deliverance Temple in Suffolk, Virginia. He began preaching at the age of 13. He was a graduate of Howard University, Washington, DC and Duke School of Divinity in Durham, North Carolina, and

WHEREAS, He was ordained to the Gospel ministry at Saint Paul Community Baptist Church Brooklyn, New York in 2013, and

WHEREAS, He was united in holy matrimony to Minister Krystle Speller, that union was blessed with 4 children, and

WHEREAS, On January 1, 2024, Reverend Speller accepted the call to the Pastorship of Second Baptist Church Aiken, South Carolina. Under his brief but successful leadership, he ordained the first female Deacons in the history of Second Baptist Church, organized the H.Y.P.E (Helping Young People Evolve) Ministry, taught the Noon Bible Study and Evening Bible Study, and was very community oriented. How sweet it is at the end of a well spent life, to turn one’s face towards the sunset and quietly sink into that rest that knows no waking except in the presence of God, and
