Yes! God Can!! Possessing The Promise

Dear Second Baptist Family,

Over the years, we’ve studied God’s Word and have taken special notice of His timing in the lives of His people. Countless times,
we’ve read where God gives a promise and years pass before it is fulfilled. What often occurs between the time a promise is given and when it manifests is a development of trust and patience, a refining of the heart and a deeper devotion to the Lord. For example, Noah could have doubted because he had never seen rain, never built an ark, nor had modern any tools. He lived hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean and had to round up all the animals on the earth.
But Noah didn’t complain; he completely trusted God and God took pleasure in him. Although it took Noah over 120 years to see the promise fulfilled, in time, God Kept His Word! Like Noah and others throughout scripture, we don’t always like waiting, but once we see the Lord’s plan unfold during the process, we see the perfect timing of God!

We believe this is the hour for Second Baptist Church to recognize and respond to God’s timing in the life of our church. As we proceed through our stewardship campaign, YES! God Can!! “Possessing The Promise”, the SBC Leadership is excited and grateful that God is using our body to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. We are on the verge of unprecedented opportunities to minister to hurting souls and our surrounding communities. The stewardship campaign will provide us with the necessary ministry tools and resources to facilitate those needs.

The primary goal of the campaign is to promise good stewardship and Kingdom building. We not only desire to change our edifice, but we desire for God to change us as a people in the process. Our prayer for this campaign is that the members of SBC will embrace and appreciate that God has given us a spectacular opportunity in time to reach thousands of people with the life changing message of Jesus Christ. With this in mind, we’re asking God to allow us to do the following:

  • make a difference with our resources;
  • do something significant that will outlast our lives;
  • leave a legacy for our children and future generations;
  • see countless lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ. SBC Family Life Center

As you take time to look at our past, our present and our future, you will get a clear sense of the plan and vision God has mandated for our church. It is our heart’s desire to lead you with integrity, see the lost gain freedom in Christ, and build up God’s people. Our prayer is that together, we can approach this venture by faith and take SBC to the next level of glory!

We thank you and challenge you to join us on this incredible journey.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

Trusting God’s Timing,
